The Bangladesh U19 cricket team made history by defeating the formidable Indian team in the final of the U19 Asia Cup 2024. The thrilling match took place on Sunday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, where Bangladesh emerged victorious by 59 runs to secure the coveted title.

First Innings: Bangladesh Posts 198 Runs

Winning the toss and electing to field first, India put Bangladesh under pressure early on. Despite the setbacks, Bangladesh managed to post a total of 198 runs in 49.1 overs, thanks to a crucial 31-run partnership between Farid Hasan and Al Fahad for the ninth wicket.

Opening batsman Jawad Abrar gave a promising start with a six off the very first over but could only contribute 20 runs. Other notable contributors were Azizul Hakim, who scored 16 runs, and the lower-order duo that helped push the score close to 200.

Second Innings: Indian Batting Falters

Chasing a target of 199, the Indian team collapsed under the pressure of Bangladesh's disciplined bowling attack. India was bundled out for 139 runs in just 35.1 overs. The Tigers' bowlers, including Iqbal Hossain Emon, Azizul Karim, and Fahad, played a pivotal role in restricting the Indian batsmen.

India's openers fell cheaply, leaving the team struggling at 24/2. Captain Mohammad Aman and K.P. Karthik tried to stabilize the innings with a 29-run partnership, but the fall of Aman at 115 sealed India's fate.

Key Bowling Performance by Bangladesh

Bangladesh's bowling unit proved to be the game-changer. Iqbal Hossain Emon, Azizul Karim, and Fahad were relentless, ensuring that no Indian batsman could settle at the crease. Their efforts ensured a historic win for Bangladesh in this prestigious tournament.

The triumph marks a significant milestone for Bangladesh cricket. The players and coaching staff celebrated the win with immense joy and pride. This victory serves as a testament to the growing prowess of Bangladesh's cricketing talent at the junior level.
